big sur trip

just got back today. car camped with three friends plus one by the big sur river. headed more north, pulled off road and hiked around a bit. found a beach with a waterfall spilling into it with a surprising amount of force. sat and did some homework in a little cypress grove that smelled like sulfur (hmmm.) with a fantastic view of the ocean. climbed out onto some big, craggy rocks, the ocean churning and spraying all around them. everywhere was green, green, green of spring and little yellow flowers. ate redwood sorrell (the "plus one" refers to a friend of a friend who is a naturalist at a christian camp that offered us these fresh, lemony green leaves to eat. factoid: sniffing bay leaves too much can make you faint.). full moon! drove back a bit on the road that runs above the valley that is behind that famous bridge.
